Ryan Murphy

Founder & President of Operations

Ryan was born and raised in Rome, Georgia, and has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. After graduating from Darlington School and earning his business degree from Brenau University, he began his career as a laborer in the late 1980s and gained hands-on experience in every phase of construction — from carpentry and framing to estimating and project management.

He later served as a Foreman and Project Manager with John McEachern Co. in Brunswick and as a Project Manager at Pinson’s Construction in Rome, overseeing residential and commercial projects. In 2013, Ryan founded Murphy Construction, specializing in residential and commercial remodeling and new construction. He and his wife, Natalie, live in Rome and have one son, Collier.

Al Barron

Business Manager

Al was born and raised in Rome, Georgia, and brings over 20 years of experience from a local family-owned business. A Darlington School graduate, he earned his BA in Business Administration from Shorter College and began his career with Heritage Automotive Group, working in sales, finance and insurance, service management, and marketing.

He joined Murphy Construction in 2014 as Business Manager, overseeing all financial and administrative operations. Al and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Rome.

Jason Payne

Vice President of Operations

Jason was born and raised in Rome, Georgia, and has 19 years of construction experience. A Darlington School graduate, he attended the University of Louisville, lettering four years as the team’s quarterback. He began his career in 2004 with CW Matthews, working on major infrastructure projects in metro Atlanta, including bridge reconstructions.

He later served as a Project Manager with Hogan Construction, overseeing new libraries and community centers, before joining Murphy Construction in 2015 as Vice President of Operations. Jason and his wife, Jodi, live in Rome and have two sons, Jack and Jaren.
